Tonke® builds old-fashioned wooden campers on a modern undercarriage. The finish is of an exceptionally high standard, and the techniques and materials that are used are superior.

Space and character

You have to be able to relocate quickly, but once you are where you want to be, you also have to feel at home quickly. The design, with the shiny mahogany, the teak floor and the excellent shower, give you a sense of timelessness and comfort. There is plenty of storage space, so that you can easily stow everything away. Instead of bicycles hanging on a rack, they are stored in the “garage”, where there is also space for outdoor furniture, a pram or “that nice piece of furniture” that you found at an antique market during your trip...

Freedom

We want you to be able to survive without a campsite for a long period of time, to really fee free, so there are facilities to enable you to do that in comfort. A large water tank, a combi-boiler with hot water and an excellent heating system, an on-board battery, a spacious fridge with freezing compartment and a gas cooker with good burners. We want you to be able to move around quickly and safely, so we have opted for modern vehicles with considerable capacity and good safety facilities.

Unloading system

The TONKE camper is simple to unload from the towing vehicle, taking just 15 minutes, which enables the vehicle to be used without the unit when camping. You can also place the Tonke® unit in your garden, to be used as exclusive guest accommodation, as an inspirational workplace or as a bed & breakfast annex. There is a 10 cm (app. 4“) to 40 cm (app. 15“) step from the ground, depending on the system chosen. The systems offer various options. A mechanical unloading system is available, or a “touch of a button” hydraulic system. Sturdy swivelling wheels can be fitted to enable the unit to be moved around on a firm surface. This means that the unit can also be driven into a garage or into winter storage.

Prices

Abroad
If you order a Tonke® from us, you would order the vehicle in your own country. The huge advantage of this is that neither you or we will be charged export prices with regard to the vehicle, nor would there be problems with the vehicle legislation specific to your country and you can easily deal with your local dealer in terms of vehicle optional extras, delivery times, and of course, if applicable, warranties. We will supply you with the specifications which the vehicle must meet.

Therefore, you need to take two prices into consideration: (1) The price that you pay to us for your Tonke® unit and the steel frame which will support the unit on your vehicle and (2) the price that you personally will pay to your local dealer for the vehicle which will carry the Tonke® unit. We deliver the Tonke® unit and the supporting steel frame, with all the tools needed for fixing this to your vehicle. We can arrange for the fitting of the load-bearing floor and, if required, the inspection of the vehicle (not required in all countries) or you can do that yourself. You attach your Tonke® unit to your vehicle and away you go!

Companies that are based abroad can purchase goods from us free of tax, and then pay the tax applicable within their own country. In that case, these companies can divide the prices by 1.19. Please talk to us about the options.
